The Port Security Act of 2006 and Online Gambling
by Your Casino Connection on Sep.05, 2010, under casino
No matter what your political persuasion, liberal, conservative, Republican, or Democrat, the new laws pertaining to internet gambling are eventually going to affect the online gambling industry.
In October 2006 the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act was attached to the Safe Port Act at the last minute by Representative Bill Frist(R) No one in the Senate had any knowledge of this addition until fifteen minutes before the Act was presented to the floor for debate in a late night session. There was no time for debate on this late addition to the Port Security Act and no politician in his right mind would vote against Port Security.
Most political analysts from across the spectrum agree that this act could never have been passed if it had been presented separately. While the Safe Port Act is important to the security of the United States, one wonders what this addition has to do with national security. The bill was passed almost unanimously by both the House and Senate with no time to debate this ill conceived amendment.
Under this act participation in online gambling is not banned or criminalized. Essentially this Act requires banks and other financial institution to adopt policies and procedures that blocks the flow of funds to online gambling sites. It specifically bans the use of credit cards and checks for online gambling.
While this site does not in any way advocate any illegal activity, a quick google search will show many alternatives to credit cards and checks. Most US based online gamblers consider this act a serious infringement on their privacy and personal liberty.
Opposition to this act covers the whole political spectrum. One conservative website raises some very relevant points. First, internet technology renders enforcement futile. The freedom the internet offers handicaps law enforcement and rapid innovation ensures that law enforcement will fall farther and farther behind. Second, the internet is an instant detour around domestic prohibitions. National sovereignty prevents the US from forcing other countries from enforcing bans on activities that are legal in those countries.
Most importantly consumer demand and the government demands for more revenues will create political pressure for legalization. And last but certainly not least is the premise that online gambling will bring competition to an industry that has long enjoyed the shelter of highly restrictive licensing practices. The bottom line is, Americans love to gamble and they cherish their liberties and privacy.
Recent studies show that as many as 60% of Americans have gambled and only a tiny minority regards online gambling as immoral. Americans have overwhelmingly shown they support the online gambling industry. The billions spent on online gambling prove this point.
The arguments against online gambling are weak at best. Some opponents of online gambling suggest that the internet encourages gambling addictions. Studies have clearly shown that online gambling is less addictive than drinking (a legal activity) and certainly much less addictive than smoking. Online gambling does not kill or cause cancer. A vast majority of online gamblers bet small sums for their own pleasure and from the privacy of their own homes. Americans, liberal and conservative alike overwhelmingly resent government intrusion into their private lives.
Another argument used by prohibitionists is the claim that online gambling is used to launder money and support terrorism. There has not been one connection made between online gambling and terrorism. The money laundering argument is irrelevant given the many other ways to launder money. Weak arguments indeed.
There is legislation pending in congress introduced by Barney Frank which would do away with most of the provisions in the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. This bill has broad bipartisan support. Hopefully congress will respect the will of the majority of the people that elected them. I urge all of you who participate in online gambling to contact you representative and senator and let them know how you feel. Regulation of private matters is a slippery slope that we should not go down.

Advantages of Gambling Online
by Your Casino Connection on Sep.05, 2010, under casino
Gambling online refers to gambling using the Internet. Typically, gambling online can refer to any of the following: online casinos, online poker, online sports betting, and online bingo.
Online casinos offer gamblers the possibility to play games such as blackjack, roulette, baccarat, video poker, slots, craps, etc. which are played against the house. The odds are in its favor, which is how the money is made. However, the payback percentages and odds of winning at online casino gambling as pretty much the same as those of gambling in land-based casinos.
Online poker commonly refers to all sorts of game types, both in poker game types and tournament structures, including Omaha, Texas hold’em, Seven-card stud, etc. Gamblers can play either against the house or against each other, but the former is definitely less preferred by online poker players. It is believed that the advent of online poker is mostly responsible for the number of poker players increasing worldwide.
Online sports betting describe gambling online for fixed odds on sporting events results. This type of gambling online is probably the most varied in terms of acceptance and legality. In the United States, sports betting is legal in only one state, Nevada, while in Europe may countries have regulated bookmaking, that is, the accepting of sports wagers. The legality of sports betting is still being disputed, its opponents claiming that the integrity of both amateur and professional sport can be threatened by attempts on the part of gamblers to fix matches.
Online bingo refers to playing bingo on the Internet, which has turned into a multibillion-dollar business. Players may be required to download free software in order to be able to play the game, and they may also be required to fund an account, if they want to have a chance at winning the largest prizes. However, gambling online is possible through free bingo games as well, and players can win smaller amounts of money, but there is no risk of gambling involved.
People usually choose gambling online over traditional gambling because of one notable advantage that the former has over the latter, namely the fact that there are no time and space limitations. In other words, location is not an issue with gambling online. Moreover, with the gambling odds and payback percentages (casino payouts) being the almost the same in online gambling and land-based gambling, why go to a casino when you can gamble from home, or any other place where you have a computer and an Internet connection?
Online casino gambling, like any other type of online gambling, comes with a lot of advantages, such as playing in the privacy of your home, without having to spend and money on lodging, avoiding smoking issues, not being interrupted and avoiding the excessive noise that you can find in a parlor, etc. In other words, the advantages of online casino gambling, as opposed to playing in a ‘brick and mortar’ casino have a lot to do with your schedule and with convenience.
Gambling online is a lot of fun, not to mention that it is very convenient. However, not all online casinos are reputable, and you can be ripped-off pretty much like in any other industry. If you are not already a loyal customer to an online casino, we suggest that you search GamblingWiz.com for tips on how to avoid scamming and for lists of casinos that will provide you with the best gambling online before you actually choose to gamble in one.

US Gambling Laws
by Your Casino Connection on Sep.04, 2010, under casino
Las Vegas is said to be a popular tourist destination in the United States of America. Ask any visitor to Las Vegas the reason of his arrival in the Vegas, his reply would be “To gamble”. To that extent, not only Las Vegas but also other major cities in the United States of America provide enough opportunity to people who wish to ‘punt’ on their money. Needless to say, casinos are breeding grounds for some rags-to-riches and riches-to-rags stories.
What are the US Gambling Laws?
Gambling is a legitimized activity in many states in the USA. Many state and federal laws mandate statutes that govern the activity of gambling in the United States of America. The US Gambling Laws are further divided into three sections – State Laws, Federal Laws and Charitable Laws.
State Laws – Most of the states in the United States of America have legalized gambling. These gambling laws are applicable to any form of gambling which includes but is not limited to lotteries, casino gambling etc. For example, the state law of Alabama lays down the rule that any person who has lost some money during gambling can claim the money back in six months from the date of the gambling. This is governed by the Section 8-1-150 of the statute of Law of Alabama.
Federal Laws – Federal laws are laws mandated by the government of the United States of America governing the gambling industry. The four main federal gambling laws include – Federal Anti-Lottery Laws, Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006, Wire Act Violation: Internet and Phone, Gambling Ship Act. The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 mostly bans gambling operators in accepting funds from bettors through the internet. This act has swooped down on tons of websites that indulged in unlawful internet gambling.
Charitable Laws – Majority of states in the United States of America have enforced laws that exempt some gambling activities from the gamut of the state and federal gambling laws. These activities include but are not limited to bingo and charitable raffles. Please note that the states of Hawaii and Utah are an exception here as they do not have any Charitable Law. For example, Bingo is considered perfectly legal in the state of Alabama. In the same vein, the state of California has mandated laws on Charitable raffles, Charitable bingo and Charitable poker games.
The Online Gambling activity is in terms of its legalities and various rules as applied by the government of United States of America. This reason has prompted many casino owners to operate the casinos from other countries which ensure that they are not governed by the tough laws of the United States of America.
The Federal Government has mandated certain statutes for online gambling and online casinos as well ensuring the protection of customer rights at all times. In fact, the government of the United States of America has banned all cross-border gambling activities which has met with a lot of criticism at the World Trade Organization.

The Facts About Compulsive Gambling. is it Treatable?
by Your Casino Connection on Sep.04, 2010, under casino
Compulsive gambling is a progressive behavior disorder in which an individual has an uncontrollable preoccupation and urge to gamble, emotional dependence on gambling, and loss of control. Compulsive gambling is considered a form of addiction. Compulsive gambling is a chronic condition: relapse after treatment is a real risk.
Gambling
Gambling is any time you bet money or place something of value at risk in hopes of winning something of greater value. Gambling becomes a problem anytime it negatively affects any aspect of your life. Gambling debts may compromise one’s financial stability, cause problems with family and work, and prompt some individuals to engage in illegal activities, including espionage, as a means of covering their losses. Gambling can indeed become a life-threatening disease.
Money
Do I need to bet with money in order for it to be considered gambling. While most people gamble with money, others bet with things they own, such as CDs, jewelry, clothing or something else. It’s not the amount of money or value of the item that you risk losing that determines whether you’re gambling. People who gamble risk losing more than money or the things they own or value. They may betray the trust of loved ones by concocting outrageous lies as to where lost money has gone.
Anonymous
Treatment options include individual and group psychotherapy, and self-help support groups such as Gamblers Anonymous. Gamblers Anonymous follows the same pattern as Alcoholics Anonymous, including the same 12-step treatment program. The Gamblers Anonymous concept is that compulsive gamblers are really very sick people who can recover if they will follow to the best of their ability a simple program that has proved successful for thousands of other men and women with a gambling or compulsive gambling problem. Our experience has shown that the Gamblers Anonymous program will always work for any person who has a desire to stop gambling.

Gambling: the Untapped Benefits of Gambling
by Your Casino Connection on Sep.04, 2010, under casino
Some people cringe at the thought of being labeled as a gambler since the stigma would forever hound them. People have different reasons as to why they gamble. Some gamble to forget their problems, others for fun, or to while away the time, those who play seriously and those who are addicted to it.
But all is not negative when it comes to gambling as there are untapped benefits of gambling which cannot be seen within the walls of the casino, or the race track, or in the bingo social hall.
Employment
In Las Vegas, a whopping 60 percent of the employment ratio is attributed to the presence of casinos. Imagine what would happen to Las Vegas if all the casinos suddenly stopped operating.
Entertainment
Self-discipline is the key. Gambling is for entertainment, as it was intended to be. Others just couldn’t handle a loss and always kept right on thinking that the next card would be the one to salvage all that has been lost. But it never does. And these types of gamblers only comprise one-fourth of the gambling population who cannot gamble responsibly.
Imagine the other 75 percent who responsibly gamble. These are the people who find the entertainment value of gambling and they are never blinded by the illusion that hitting it big time just once is the key to financial freedom.
It is sad that only a small percentage of the gambling population gets the bad rap of how gambling can be so destructive. Families, friends, properties, jobs, crimes and deception permeate the destruction brought about by gambling but it is still a small portion of the gambling population.
Charity Work
Winnings from gambling activities have contributed in providing the needed financial support of worthy causes. They use gambling activities such as bingos or lotteries with a percentage of the jackpot winnings tied with charity institutions.
Some celebrities even show their prowess in card games like poker to provide entertainment for the viewers and winnings for the charity institution they represent.
Health benefit
Studies have been found that retirees 65 years old and above who gamble have less health issues such as depression, alcoholism and bankruptcy as they find gambling to be therapeutic as it exercises their mind and keep them alert.
The study was not conclusive, however, because retiree gamblers are the recreational gamblers who find the entertainment value of gambling. They are healthier because they are healthy to begin with and not because they gamble.
In the end, it is not the gambling act itself that makes it beneficial or harmful to the individual. It is the decision of the individual if gambling would rule him or he would rule his gambling habit.

Mothers Earning Income Using Best Gambling Strategies Online!
by Your Casino Connection on Sep.03, 2010, under casino
It’s 9am on a weekday, a mother has already dressed her children for school. After she drops them off she will be heading to a casino for an early dose of gambling.
She goes home, logs into her computer and starts making money. Then she gets on with the things she enjoys doing. Later she logs in and checks her income for the day.Sounds “too ridculous to be true”? Not in todays world where casinos are available in our own homes, online.
Gambling is now seen as ordinary activity that most people tend to overlook. By doing so, they do not see the potential income gambling can bring to thier lives.
Now earning money online by gambling is NOT for everyone, you have to be a sensible person who will not get carried away by the thrill of wiinnig and bet outside the rules of a good system.
Generally, gambling, more commonly know as betting, is a behavior that involves money put at risk on a future result. The money is at risk because the probability of winning is too low or is totally dependent upon chance.
You could never be sure of winning a gambling game, unless you have an unbeatable, proven system based on statistics.
Gambling comes in many forms: one that can be beatable and the other not beatable
Beatable games of gambling refer to games that can be trampled thereby creating a positive numerical probability through proper strategy.
These includes poker, though this is better classified as a game of skill; blackjack, video poker, Pai Gow Poker and Tiles, sports betting, horse racing, and slot machines.
On the other hand, unbeatable games makes a player eventually lose a game no matter what strategy they use. More common examples of these games are slot machines, baccarat, craps, roulette, keno, casino war, faro, pachinko, 3-card and 4-card poker, red dog, pyramid poker, Caribbean stud poker, and Spanish 21.
Both beatable and unbeatable gambling games can be found in the casinos. Though, there are other gambling games that are not played inside the casinos such as lottery, mahjong, backgammon, coin-tossing games such as head and tail, and carnival games like The Razzle and Hanky Pank.
There are also the so-called fixed-odds gambling that can be seen on events like horse racing, football, golf, tennis, baseball, and other sports that entice people to bet on the winner of the event.
In gambling, people usually try to win back the money they have lost. This is why 95% of people who gamble eventually lose money. They continue to bet and eventually place their selves at the risk of losing more instead.
Many people who gamble say that they only play for pleasure or recreation. Others say they just have to earn money and that gambling is an easy way to do so.
However, because gambling involves a variety of mental activity, coupled with stress and the mentality of a winner, it can be a possible source of psychological addiction. In the long run, this can be very harmful to people who are affected by gambling.
Consequently, because of the negative effect of gambling, most legal jurisdictions opt to not legalize any gambling activity. With this, any contracts that led to debts brought about by a certain gambling activity are deemed unenforceable by any legal process.
If you are going to succeed in making tax free money from gambling you need to have access to a proven system that gets results and you have to avoid the temptation to try and get your money back after a loss. If you cannot do this then earning fast money gambling online is not for you.

How to Meet US Online Gambling Regulations
by Your Casino Connection on Sep.02, 2010, under casino
In the US, online gambling regulations are strict and as each state enforces their own individual laws it makes it a lot harder to meet the regulations if you have to cater to fifty different kinds and still run an online gambling business. The practices in online gambling can vary widely, for instance, betting on sports, playing online games of chance and encompass any other type of gambling conducted over the internet. Despite all this though online gambling regulations are put in place for a reason and as I mentioned earlier they are strongly enforced therefore they must not be ignored and should be followed at all times. This article is aimed at helping you be able to meet these online gambling regulations.
The first step in meeting online gambling regulations is you should not transfer information about sports betting across state lines. The Federal Wire Act distinctively bans electronic transmissions, however you are allowed to participate in games of chance as this is not prohibited by this set of regulations. The step two in meeting online gambling regulations is get familiar with the laws in your state. A majority of the states have proclaimed laws prohibiting online gambling, however a couple have allowed certain forms of gambling in their legislation. The third step in meeting online gambling regulations is you need to acquire a license before conducting your gambling operations in order to meet federal gaming requirements. Presently no states are granting licenses, however if you are located outside the US you might be able to obtain one and operate from there.
The fourth step in meeting online gambling regulations is if any online gambling website contacts you to advertise for them on your website, decline the offer no matter how much money they offer. Although the US laws have clearly stated it is illegal to advertise gambling activities and games of chance, it would be difficult for you to determine which gambling operations are legal or a fraud. The fifth and final step in meeting online gambling regulations is you need to operate outside of the US borders if you want to run an online gambling business legally. A couple other countries have more lenient regulations on the matter. On the other hand though, it may not be legal for US citizens to access foreign online gambling websites.
One of the key reasons as to why the US acts against online gambling websites is because they have quickly become known for scamming people out of their money. The World Trade Organization have presented a couple new online gambling regulations to the US government and requested that they deal with the matter; however nothing has been done to meet this request. Along with the US’s successful ban on internet gambling, Australia has also passed laws which limit the practice. On the other hand, in a couple Caribbean countries as well as the European Union online gambling is legal and then there are countries which simply have not addressed the subject.

Gambling Benefits- 4 Benefits Of Gambling
by Your Casino Connection on Sep.02, 2010, under casino
Why gamble and why don’t?
Most people are unhappy about being labeled as gamblers since the disgrace would forever harass them. People have several reasons regarding the sport of gambling. Few gamble for fun, some to forget problems, another few to just pass the time. There are people who gamble seriously and there are others who are simply addicted to gambling.
Gambling is not all that downbeat, if you realize that there certain untapped benefits from gambling which are not very visible and are beyond the race track or the walls of casino or even bingo social hall.
Employment
The employment ratio attributed to the existence of casinos in Las Vegas is around 60 percent. One would not be able to perceive the situation if the casinos suddenly stopped functioning.
Entertainment
Gambling is no doubt the essence of entertainment provided people limit themselves and sprinkle discipline within them. Some people are too optimistic about recovering all their lost cards in the next game and hence continue the game. These constitute hardly a quarter of the gambling population who are not responsible enough and get into indecent gambling.
However there is the other 75 percent of population who gamble responsibly. They are those who know the entertainment value of gambling and never get into opinions where they are blinded to make huge money the very first time they hit the card!
It is a sad fact that only a very minor portion of gamblers realize how destructive gambling can ever get. It is true that friends, families, jobs, properties, crime etc saturate the destruction brought by gambling when there is no application of self discipline.
Charity Work
The winnings coming from gambling tricks and activities have donated the much required financial resource for every worthy cause. Lotteries and Bingos are being utilized in many cases in a way that every win contributes a percentage of jackpot reward to various charity institutions.
At times celebrities manifest their competence in different games such as the card game of poker in a way that the audience is entertained and the winnings go towards the charitable organizations they represent.
Health benefits
Studies have revealed that population which is 65 years or older who gamble have considerably fewer reports of health issues be it depression, alcoholism or bankruptcy. They find gambling very therapeutic as in a way it keeps them alert by exercising their mind.
Retiree gamblers are most often recreational gamblers who value the entertainment quotient of gambling. It was concluded that they stay healthy because they begin by being healthy and not because of gambling.
To conclude, it is not just the act of gambling that develops as harmful or beneficial to any individual. It is but the resolution of the individual which would help him rule excessive gambling rather than excessive gambling ruling up on him.
